Chandbali stands on the famous and sacred river The Baitarani of Mahabharat fame. From the Early Medieval period up to the British period this place has enjoyed its importance in the field of trade and commerce, especially as a port-town during the British period. Chandbali College was born from the womb of a long-cherished dream seen by the local educated and conscious youths and elderly persons in 1979. UG classes of Commerce department of the college recognized by the Govt. of Odisha, in the year 1983-84 with 96 seats was subsequently affiliated to F.M. University, Balasore, Odisha. This department offers Honours courses in Accounting, Management & Finance with 32 seats each. The Govt. of Odisha has accorded to increase the seats from 96 to 128 from the academic session 2014-15.
