CRITERION-V: STUDENT SUPPORT AND PROGRESSION

With the introduction of admission through SAMS from 2011 a common prospectus is being issued by the Govt. Since then the institution has stopped publishing prospectus since details about the institution is available in the website www. dheodisha.gov.in. The common prospectus provides all necessary information for the students. The college prospectus provides a complete profile of the college. The handbook is having the admission schedule, the details of the college working days, the fee details and the rules and regulations which the students need to observe during their stay in the college. The handbook contains the list of the facilities being provided to the students. The students of SC/ST, OBC and economically weaker sections are identified and recorded during the process of the admission. Possible help and concessions are given during their studentship in the college. Besides, the Central Govt., the State Govt., and the University sponsored scholarships and concessions are also given to such students. The college management members and faculty members also extend a helping hand by way giving financial help to needy and meritorious students at the time of admission. UGC Sponsored Remedial classes are arranged for the empowerment of SC/BC and other backward castes.

The college publishes its annual college magazine Balihansa. The students of the college enthusiastically contribute their articles in the magazine. The institute has a placement cell of its own. The percentage of students appearing for the qualifying final examination after the required period of study is about 100%. The average pass percentage in the final Examination is between 80% to 100% both for pass and honours courses. Over the years the college has helped the students in finding better job opportunities and better enterprises to work in.

CRITERION- VI: ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT.

The Governing Body of the college has been formed by the state Government. As directed, MLA of the Chandbali constituency is functioning as the President and the Principal as the Secretary for administering the affairs of the college. The teachers are acting as the Academic Bursar, Administrative Bursar, and Accounts Bursar. Various committees are formed for smooth functioning of the institution such as Construction Committee, UGC Committee, NAAC Committee, Admission committee, Examination Committee etc. There is Local fund Audit to look after proper utilization of funds. The State Governments contribution to the college is limited to the salary payments for the approved teaching & Non-teaching posts under the “Direct payment” scheme. The UGC grant has been sanctioned under the heads: Women’s Hostel, Academic Building, Cyclone Grant, UGC-NRC, OMSP, Extension Activities, Remedial Course, Equipments, Book and Journals, Xerox, Television, State/National Level Seminars.
