ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT

The department of Economics came into existence with the inception of the college and Degree classes opened in 1981, as the local gentry intended to educate the students on commercial and economic front in the Port City as well as commercial town of Chandbali so that they can get placement in financial sectors like: Banking, Insurance, Statistical units, Govt. and private enterprises and above all Self Employment. Since then this department has been working sincerely to cherish the desire of the public through teaching and learning process.

The department organized unit test , group discussion , distribution of papers and career counselling updating the students with the recent changes in economic scenario taking place from time to time in order to develop their standard to face the challenging needs in a dynamic set up . Eminent academicians are invited to deliver their presentation in the department. Our students have scored success in P.G. / M.Phil and undergone Ph.D.in JNU, New Delhi. Besides large number of students are entering into the job sector every year and rendering social service to the downtrodden and rural poor. The department of economics imparts teaching in both Pass and Honours in 3 years degree course structure.
