About NCC

NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

The NCC (Naval) wing of this college is affiliated to 2(O) Naval Unit, Bhadrak. The NCC (Naval) wing of this college was established in the year of 2003 for Boys students with an authorized strength of 50 nos. cadet only. Only +3 1st year degree students with average height, sound health having swimming ability, those who will qualify written and physical test conducted by the NCC Unit, Bhadrak will be eligible to join. Preference will be given to students having cultural talent, good academic excellence. A cadet is required to undergo a course of three year training in senior division NCC Naval Unit during his college tenure.

Normal training which is held every Sunday consists of six periods, each period being 40 minutes, authorized training period in a year is 120 periods. Instructions are imparted to cadets in drill with and without arms, weapon training, field craft, boating and map reading & so on.

After the end of the 2nd year training a cadet is allowed to appear for ‘B’ Certificate examination provided he has attended one training camp and put in a minimum of 75% of the attendance out of the 120 periods were given. At the end of the 3rd year training a cadet is allowed to appear for appear for ‘C’ Certificate examination provided he has attended two training camp and put in a minimum of 75% of the attendance out of the 120 periods and should have pass B’ Certificate examination.

Aim of the NCC: To develop quality of character, courage comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them to useful citizens of India. To create human resources of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life including the NCC, Naval forces and always be available for the service of the nation.

Admission to the NCC: Students of the roll of the college interested to join NCC, Naval Unit shall have to fill in the prescribed form available in the college NCC office after taking admission in UG 1st year programme.

Discipline

The following actions will constitute breach of discipline

  • When on parade, engaged on service, duty or wearing uniform, a cadet
  • Goes on strike or indulges in violence or use thwarting or insubordinate language or behaves with contempt towards his superior Officer.
  • Disobeys any standing order and/or lawful command given by his superior officer.
  • Neglects to obey a general or unit order.
  • Is in a state of intoxication.
  • Failing to appear without sufficient cause on parade or any place in his capacity as a member of the Corps where he has been ordered to do so and/or quitting the ranks without sufficient cause.
  • Failing to perform any part of training without sufficient cause.
  • Striking of cognizable violence to any person in whose custody he is placed while under arrest.
  • Resisting an escort whose duty is to arrest him in custody.
  • Escaping while under arrest or detention.
  • Making away or being concerned with making away with Army property belonging to Government.
  • Willfully damaging any such property.
  • Falsely personifying any other person on any occasion or abetting any such act of impersonation
